KEP Yoga

What is Yoga?

Yoga is more than physical exercise. It’s more than being able to touch your toes or stand on your head.  Yoga is about bringing awareness to the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit; and that’s unique to each individual. Each time we practice, we come to the mat with a different physical body, distinct energies, and new challenges, and by honoring where we are at that very moment, we grow stronger. I wholeheartedly believe that people who say they can’t do yoga just haven’t found the right practice (or teacher) for them.

As an instructor, I strive to make every yoga class unique on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. While my classes are playful and energizing, they are also grounding, giving students the opportunity to push their limits while staying in tuned to the needs of their physical and energetic bodies. Students are given the space to cultivate mindfulness, inner peace, and harmony with the world around them.

I hope to inspire compassion, self-love, an appreciation for Mother Earth, and the practice of finding our True Self. Everyday the practice of Yoga reveals new insights into the physical and spiritual aspects of the Self, allowing us to blossom into an authentic and pure version of ourself and connecting us to our own highest consciousness and inner being.

What kind of classes do I offer?

I teach a variety of classes, click below to learn more about each class.

Vinyasa Flow focuses on a flowing, dynamic sequence of postures that links breath with movement and works to build strength and endurance as you push the edge of your balance and flexibility. Perhaps the most popular style practiced in the West, this style keeps you moving!

Yin Yoga is an active yoga practice that targets the connective tissues (fascia, ligaments, tendons, joints, and bones) through long holds and internal heat build-up. A more meditative approach to yoga, Yin aims at cultivating awareness of inner silence, and bringing to light universal, interconnecting qualities.

Restorative Yoga is a slow-paced, contemplative practice designed to invite rest into the body and mind as the student receives each posture as its own meditation. Maximum comfort and passive stretching in the poses are encouraged through the many and varied use of props, allowing the muscles to be fully relaxed. Comfortable attire and personal favorite props that inspire rest are recommended.

Meditation is to the mind what physical exercise is to the body. It's a practice rooted in awareness and getting a healthy sense of perspective. You’re not trying to turn off your thoughts or feelings, you’re learning to observe them without judgment or attachment, and eventually, you may start to better understand them as well. There are various meditation practices that can be tailored to your needs and intentions.

I teach in a corporate and private/semi-private setting, and I sub classes at Hot 8 Yoga in Manhattan Beach and Santa Monica. I’m also available for special events and retreats.
